1. Mining Location
LANG SON INDUSTRIAL LIME COMPANY LIMITED (VLS) located in Dong Tien Commune, Huu Thung District, Lang Son Province is a member company of VIETNAM MINING AND METALLURGY TECHNOLOGY JSC of KIM NAM GROUP. VLS uses limestone in Dong Tien-Huu Lung-Lang Son as raw material source. Especially, raw material area of this project is in the vicinity of Bo Ha coal mining area and spicy lime craft village, and 10km from Bo Ha port.
2. Product and Consumer Market
"Main products of Lang Son Lime Project are: quicklime lump, quicklime powder, hydrated quicklime and light powder that would meet the demand of dosmetic and foreign market:
- Quicklime lump: is produced to provide to domestic and foreign market such as: India, Bangladesh, Taiwan, China, Japan,... Quicklime lump has a wide range of uses, including in the steel industry, the agricultural industry, the seafood industry and environmental treatment.
- Quicklime powder: is produced to provide to domestic market including the steel industry, the agricultural industry, the seafood industry and environmental treatment.
- Hydrated quicklime: is produced to provide to domestic and foreign market, used in wastewater treatment.
- Light quicklime: is produced to provide to domestic market and exported, used in the food industry and the pharmaceutial industry."
3. Project Progress
"- The 1st period is from 1st quarter of 2019 to 2nd quarter of 2020: implement legal procedures, install and test in quicklime lump and quicklime powder production.
- The 2nd period is from 3rd quarter of 2020 to the end of 2021: installing hydrated quicklime and light powder production line."
4. Project Advantage
According to Decision 507 of the Ministry of Construction, by 2020, the manual lime-kiln will be banned from operation. Meanwhile, the project site is located in the area that is adjacent to the coal mining area of Bo Ha, the spicy lime craft village of Bo Ha and the port of Bo Ha. Therefore, the project will compensate for the missing left by the craft village, and this is also an opportunity to develop domestic market.
